Activities in the year 2016-2017

Specific Activities of the Trust

Gracemaria Charitable Trust was formed on 12.04.2002 by the Trustees namely Fr. M. Selvaraj, Fr. M. Philomindas and Mr. A. Victor Singarayer. The objectives of the Trust among other things are to assist poor students.

The following are the specific activities carried out by the Trust during the year 01.04.2016 – 31.03.2017.

  1. Scholarship to poor students

Scholarship was issued to poor students under three categories.

The first category is school children. Twenty Seven school children were given scholarship. The total amount spent for them is Rs. 48000/-

The second category is college students. Twenty Eight college students were given scholarship. The total amount spent for them is Rs. 112000/-

The third category is Diploma and Training students. Seventeen students were given scholarship for job oriented vocational training. The total amount spent for them is Rs. 60800/-

The total number of poor students received scholarship is 72. The net amount spent for students’ scholarship is Rs. 2,20,800/-

  1. A donation of Rs. 2,65,000/- was given to St. Joseph’s Girls Primary School at Thennur, for maintenance and painting of the school.

These are the specific activities carried out by Gracemaria Charitable Trust during the financial year 2016 -2017 and the total amount spent for these specific activities is Rs. 4,85,800/-. Thus, the Trust is lending hand to poor students to pursue their education.
